How to Verify a Client Using a Reliance CDD Agreement in AML Guardian

Step 1: Open the client profile

  • In the left menu, click Clients → Individual.

  • Find the client whose status is In Review (Verification Status shows Not Started).

  • Click the eye icon in the Actions column to open the profile.

Step 2: Start the approval

  • On the client profile, click the green Approve button (top right).

  • Approve KYC – Select the Approval Method window opens.

  • Choose Reliance Agreement (the green box, “Upload an existing document”).

Step 3: Upload the Reliance Agreement (Step 1 of 2)

  • Click to select a file.

  • Select your document (PDF, JPG, or PNG)

A preview appears with the file name and size. Check it’s the right document.

  • If it’s wrong, click the X next to the file to remove it and upload it again.

  • Click Continue to Checklist.

Step 4: Review the Verification Checklist (Step 2 of 2)

After you click Continue to Checklist, open the uploaded Reliance Agreement and compare it against each checklist item. Tick a box only if the agreement, or a check you have run yourself, confirms it. If the agreement doesn’t mention an item, leave it unticked and complete that check separately.
Note: Checklist requirements may vary depending on whether the client is an Individual or a Business

Step 5: Complete the Onboarding Compliance Assessment

  • On the Onboarding Compliance Assessment row, click Review.

  • A Verification window opens. If the question shows Not answered, click Edit.

  • Under “What services are you seeking from us and why?”, choose the correct option from the dropdown and complete the assessment.

  • Click Submit.

  • You’ll see Onboarding Risk Assessment Submitted and the answer with a risk.

  • Close the window to return to the checklist.

Step 6: Complete the Onboarding Risk Assessment (Agent)

Answer the Onboarding Risk Assessment of compliance information questions.

  • Click Submit. The Pending tag on this row should clear once it’s saved.

  • You’ll see Onboarding Risk Assessment Submitted and the answer with a risk tag.

Step 7: Approve

  • Click Approve at the bottom right.

  • You’ll see two confirmations: “Reliance Agreement Document uploaded successfully, KYC has been force approved and the client is now onboarded” and “Status updated”

Step 8: Confirm the result

On the client profile, check that:

  • Status is Onboarded.

  • The KYC panel shows the tag Reliance / Manual Approval and the Verified badge.

  • Review Status is Completed, and the Created and Approved dates are filled in.

  • An Offboard Client button now appears (use it only if you need to offboard the client later).

  • In Clients → Individual, the client now shows Verified with a purple RELIANCE AGREEMENT tag.
